Residential Window Cleaning
Any type of home that someone lives in is going to have, at least some, windows. Windows are the beautiful glass installations that enable us to feel the warmth of the sun, without getting any of the dangerous side effects of that exposure. Windows help to regulate our heating and cooling, and they keep us protected from the outside elements. And, while windows are meant to be able to see out of, to bring light in to our living spaces, they can get dirty pretty easily. When this happens, it’s time for a great cleaning.
Interior windows are, probably, the easiest set of windows to clean. Because this side of windows is inside your home, the amount if dirt, or grime, that is on the window is probably not all that much. What’s more, interior windows are easier to clean because, inside your home, we can most likely reach all parts of your window. Interior windows are, almost always, at people level height and don’t require the use of step stool, or ladders. With interior windows, we can generally use a mild detergent, or window cleaning solution, to wipe away whatever dirt is built up.
Exterior windows can be a bit harder to clean, for a number of reasons. One of the reasons these windows require more work, is because these windows face the outside elements. This means that rain, wind and other elemental conditions can cause thick grime to build up on your window panes. Beyond this, window jams are places that small critters like to call home. In addition to needing to clean off more dirt, and possibly some insects, exterior windows are often higher off the ground, due to differences in the height between land and window sill. This requires the used of small ladders or step stools.
Skylight are easily the hardest of all residential windows to clean. The reason these windows are hard to clean is because, both, interior and exterior parts of these windows require the use of ladders to clean. On the interior side of the skylights, a tall ladder is needed to get up on and reach up to clean the glass. On the exterior side of a skylight, a tall ladder is needed to get up to your roof, and then, from there, we need to climb up the roof to the skylight. This whole process can be very dangerous, but we assure you we can take care of it for you!
Stained glass can be difficult to clean, mostly because it is extremely delicate and a one of a kind, handmade item. If you try to clean this type of glass on your own, you may use too much pressure and cause the panes to shatter. Lucky for you, we have the skill and experience to make sure that your stained glass stays completely in tact all the way through cleaning. We will make sure to clean, both, the glass and the leading around the panels.
